Stronger Than a Cup of Coffee: The Hook, Link & The Boys From Alabama

More powerful than a locomotive!
Able to leap billboard charts in a single bound!
Look, up at the stage…
It’s a absurd…
No, it’s insane…

No…it’s three songs stronger than a cup of coffee!

Some mornings are harder than others to strike sparks. Sometimes that massive Styrofoam container of brewed black mud or that six shot venti skinny soy latte or the three Red Bulls just won’t do the trick. No matter how much caffeine, taurine or ginseng you ingest,  your get up and go just seems to have got up and wen t

If you are having one of those mornings (like I was having), do I have the cure for you! These here three songs are sure to put a tiger in your tank. Each of these stone cold muthas are sure to get the juices flowing and synapse firing.

First up is a thick, chunky churning boogie groove from the Lord of the Boogie and a few of his disciples. This thing will make your car run for an extra mile or two even if your needle is on “E”.

The next one is from the man that Pete Townsend said that without his influence, The Who never would have existed. Make sure you have your balance at 0:29. If not, the guitar break might knock you on your ass.

The last shot of love is a tough, leathery, triple-riff heavy choogler from the real deal version of this Alabama band. The opening growl alone is enough to make your big toe shoot up in your boot (thanks Little Richard).

Enjoy.

“Boogie Chillun’ No.2″ – John Lee Hooker & The Canned Heat

“Jack The Ripper” – Link Wray

“Working for the MCA” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

Should have caught this post before work. Could have used it. I have to check out more of Link Wray’s tunes. Fell in *adore* withBig Boss Man last year when Springsteen used it as a walk on tune for concert here.

@MadnessInMySoul Hey, what’s even better about these 3 songs vs. coffee is that they never cool down. Use them today and everyday! Cheers.
